 The Madison Theatre, Molloy College, Commissions Ittai Shapira to write a new violin concerto.  Shapira is named Artistic Advisor for the  new Arts Center (July, 2011) Ittai Shapira performs , European Premieres for the Aver Dorman Violin Concerto with the Oulu Sinfonia in  Finland and Sweden, Belgrade Philharmonic (October, 2010) Shapira tours with his own “Concierto Latino!” With the Key West Symphony  and  records with the London Serenata.

 Written expressly for Shapira by 4 time Emmy winner Glen Roven, this concert piece for Violin, Orchestra and Narrator, based on a beloved  children's book The Runaway Bunny. This children's classic sells 900,000 copies a year and is available in 23 different languages. A modern  day "Peter and the Wolf", this 20 minute work is equally suitable for Gala, subscription and family series alike for any orchestra committed to  audience development.

 Shulamit Ran's Violin Concerto written for Shapira, whose recording is due to be released in 2007-08 as part of a compilation of Ms Ran's  works performed by Daniel Barenboim and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for Albany Records.

 

 

 

 "Concierto Latino!" Premiere

 January 2008

 

 Shapira will premiere his very first composition, "Concierto Latino" with the Israeli Sinfonietta.  Shapira's Latin infused three movement  concerto influenced by the melodic and rhythmic elements of the Salsa, Tango, Rumba, Flamenco, Soleare.
